Time and the potter's wheel

I am about to propound a theory. Probably, those of you who are sticklers to terms would call it a conjecture. Whatever it might be, had I read this on Mr X's informed blog or Mr Y's wannabe tumble log (X,Y are you know who ;) ), I would have gone OTT making fun of them. Calling them pseudo-smart etc etc. But, here am I, doing the very same. And as Trikha would say, I am doing this right now as I believe it to be right at the moment.

Fine, cutting the chase, the theory says time is like the potter's wheel. Moves faster at the edges and stays still at the center. The mad scurrying pace of the metros put them right at the edge. And if you are not hanging on tightly enough, you fly off tangentially into oblivion. The charmingly ignorant languor of Rajmachi (this is a small village nestled in the Sahyadris near Karjat. I trekked to the Rajmachi fortress during my December holidays. Its OK to be jealous,I knew I had a ball :P Will soon post about the trek) inspired the theory. It must be located right at the center of the wheel. The village of Rajmachi is blissfully ignorant about time. Every time we had a question starting with "When", "How soon" , we were met with a condescending and mocking look. The look that was reserved for the time starved city dwellers .They knew that in their isolated village time is frozen. It is only on the periphery of the wheel, that everyone is busy and doesn't even have the time to reply back to a thank-you mail.
